Extracurricular
Extracurriculars are important for students in a variety of ways. TAIS is interested in students’ physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Clubs are opportunities for them to release stress, gain valuable experience, build portfolios, explore talents, and get much-needed exercise to become a well-rounded individual.
Music
Many students at TAIS have been practicing instruments from a young age. We are committed to providing them opportunities to not only practice and improve their skills but also perform in meaningful and authentic environments. To this end, TAIS employs a music teacher and coach and schedules regular performances. TAIS offers support for the strings, piano, bells, drums, and brass instruments. It’s both a part of the curriculum, as classes, and extracurricular.
Sports
TAIS is committed to offering students opportunities to explore and expand their skills in various sports while getting exercise and build relationships. Basketball, Badminton, and Soccer are the main sports which TAIS offers support for. Each team has a coach and support staff and plays other schools on a regular basis. Other clubs are subject to student interest, such as Tennis, Ping-Pong, Volleyball, and others.
Clubs
Students may start a variety of clubs in which their interests lie. They need signatures of 5 interested students and a faculty sponsor and apply to the principal for approval. Clubs that fall into this category have and do include: Board Games, Legos, Drama, Band, Community Service, French, Spanish, Fitness, 3D Printing, Video Production, and Yoga. (Actual clubs vary based on student interest, available funds, and time constraints.)
Art Club
Many students show an interest and aptitude in artistic endeavors. TAIS employs a top rate art teacher to help students progress and develop their portfolios. They have time to pursue these endeavors in art classes and also clubs. These skills can be extremely valuable in the workplace in areas of Graphic Design, Clothing Design, Marketing, and Architecture. TAIS students get a jump on their peers to have opportunities to build these skills early.
