Weekend Activities
As a boarding and day school serving grades 7–12, we require students to remain on campus for two weekends each month. These weekends offer opportunities for students to grow and excel physically, intellectually, and spiritually. While students attend regular classes Monday through Thursday, the time from 4:00 PM Friday until 8:00 PM Saturday is dedicated to themed "life education" activities organized by our international faculty. These activities, ranging from team games and community service to recreational outings, are distinct from academic coursework and feature unique themes for each on-campus weekend.
On Friday evenings, students gather in their assigned faculty-led care groups. This is a heartwarming time for sharing personal experiences and receiving advice or encouragement from teachers and peers. These groups engage in interactive discussions, mini-games, and multimedia presentations centered on character-building themes. Additionally, international teachers prepare home-style meals, fostering a family-like atmosphere where teachers and students can bond and build deep, meaningful relationships.
Saturday mornings are dedicated to spiritual and humanistic reflection, featuring character-building stories, poetry sharing, and sessions on spiritual growth and personal testimonies. Saturday afternoons focus on outdoor recreation, including hiking, cycling, scavenger hunts, community service, and various games and activities that allow teachers and students to learn and play together.
Saturday nights are filled with engaging group activities, from movie nights and creative cooking contests to friendly sports matches involving the whole school or seasonal celebrations. Through these shared experiences, TAIS cultivates a true "big family" campus atmosphere. Students cherish the wonderful moments spent boarding and staying over with teachers and friends, creating unique, unforgettable campus memories. Engaging in leisure activities over the weekend allows students to relax and recharge, preparing them for the rigorous academic schedule of the coming week.

You might be wondering: what do students at TAIS do during on-campus weekends? One of the activities is gathering at the homes of teachers. Students have the opportunity to visit these teachers, who come from various countries, to share delicious food and connect with one another. These moments serve as a first step toward internationalization and cross-cultural exchange, while also fostering close, family-like bonds between teachers and students.
